The Rams honored the team that laid the foundation for our wonderful basketball tradition. The 1962 Basketball Rams were the first to win the Chicago Catholic League and helped establish our program as one of the best in the city.
A packed Tom Winiecki Gymnasium greeted them with loud cheers and ovations. In attendance were a number of our past basketball alumni who came to recognize our 1962 team.
The Varsity Rams hoped to make a special event even greater with an upset victory over the Ramblers. However, the sharp shooting of the Ramblers sabotaged our plans and the Rams went on to fall to Loyola.
The fans who attended Friday night did not leave disappointed. It was a very hard fought game with many exciting moments with both sides hustling and giving maximum effort.
The Rams will finish the regular season by visiting St Ignatius this Friday evening.
